University of Nevada recently issued the following announcement.
Dear Wolf Pack Family,
Over the past two years, among the many exceptional duties that all of you have performed, have been the numerous good works and acts of kindness that you’ve done to help with the wellbeing of the people around you. We have seen numerous examples of how students, faculty and staff have come together to help one another through this challenging time. By showing this concern, understanding and providing this needed support to those around you, you’ve made a tremendous difference. I wish to thank you for demonstrating the values and heart that make our University so special.
In an effort to acknowledge and to build upon this culture of support that we see on a daily basis at our University, I am happy to announce the Wolf Pack Wellbeing Week will be held April 18-22. The keynote speaker will be Paula Davis, J.D., MAPP who is the Founder and CEO of the Stress & Resilience Institute. Paula is the author of Beating Burnout at Work: Why Teams Hold the Secret to Well-Being & Resilience. The book was the No. 1 best-selling title in 2021 for the Wharton School Press. In addition, there will be 25 presentations on mental, physical and financial wellbeing. Below is the schedule of events so you can block your schedule for sessions you wish to attend. More detailed descriptions and registration information will be available soon.
I also wanted to encourage our faculty and staff to participate in the Health Mind Survey. The survey is conducted by the University of Michigan and will help us better understand the use of mental health services and campus mental health needs. To take the survey, please refer to the email you received last week from Tim McFarling. For questions about the survey, please contact Filiz Sapin in University Counseling Service at filiz@unr.edu.
