City of Boulder City recently issued the following announcement.

As part of the Hemenway Watershed Improvements – Phase IIB flood control improvements project, the box culvert (tunnel) under Boulder City Parkway at Nevada Way needs to be extended on the wash (north) side. In order to safely accomplish this tunnel extension, contractor Target Construction has requested a one-week closure of the tunnel. This closure is scheduled for Monday morning August 30, 2021 to Friday evening September 3, 2021.

The tunnel crossing up the hill (west) from this location is open for use and can best be accessed using the path from Colorado Street. Please see the attached location map showing the tunnel that will be closed and the open tunnel.  For your safety and the safety of the crews working on the project, please adhere to the traffic control signage and stay out of the work area that is closed.

If you have any questions, please contact Public Works at 702.293.9200.
