Carrington College Phoenix Campus Hosts Grand Opening for its Trades Education Center

The Carrington College Trades Education Center in Phoenix hosted an Open House on Tuesday, Oct. 18th highlighting its Electrical Technology, Maintenance Technician, and Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) skilled trade programs. The event also served as a grand opening for the Trades Education Center since first opening it’s doors to students at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of the event, there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Debbie Droater, Vice President of Strategic Member Engagement for the Chamber of Commerce. Christian Curry, District Representative for U.S. Congressman David Schweikert, also presented Carrington College with a letter of recognition. Additional speakers included Carrington College student Tyler Boubin, Vice President of Operations at Carrington College, Michael Como, and Program Director at the Carrington College Trades Education Center in Phoenix, Kim Schofield. Austin Roe, Deputy District Director for Congresswoman Debbie Lesko, was also invited to speak at the event.

The Maintenance Technician program is designed to provide fundamental, hands-on training in industrial systems and equipment. Students will study and master the basic principles, applications, concepts, and functions of hydraulic systems, bearing and seal types, and power transmission components. Practical instruction is provided with industry-standard equipment and software. The program culminates in a certificate of achievement in Maintenance Technology.

The Electrical Technology certificate program is approximately 40 weeks in length and provides a framework of electrical knowledge and skills that can be adapted in the electrical trade industry. The program prepares students for employment in numerous electrical and related trades. Students will learn to install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems in a safe, competent, and professional manner. The program culminates in a certificate of achievement in Electrical Technology.

The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certificate program is approximately 48 weeks in length and prepares students to work in the heating and cooling industry. Training focuses on theories of heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning. Students study the operation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial equipment. The program culminates in a certificate of achievement in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

The Carrington College Trades Education Center in Phoenix marks a historic milestone for the college and will address the growing demand for skilled trade professionals.
