UNLV Film Hosts 10th Anniversary Screening of "Stealing Las Vegas" Sept. 22

UNLV Film proudly hosts the 10th anniversary screening of its co-curricular project "Stealing Las Vegas" at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22 in the Dolby Atmos Theatre (FDH 109).

Academy Award-winner Roger Corman produced the 87-minute heist film that stars Eric Roberts, Nate Bynum, Antonio Fargas, and late UNLV film professor Michael Tylo. Professor Francisco Menendez directs. The event is free and open to the public. Join the cast and film alumni for this very special event.

About the Film

Filmed on a whirlwind 18-day schedule 10 years ago at a variety of Glitter City locations, “Stealing Las Vegas” stars veteran actor Eric Roberts as Alex Stratholme, the greedy owner of the fictional Olympus casino.

Las Vegan Antonio Fargas - forever known as the ultracool Huggy Bear on TV’s “Starsky & Hutch” - co-stars as Mo, a supervisor and cage-fighting promoter.

Following the premiere, the film entered the Marche Du Film at the Cannes Film Festival and sold to more than 70 territories.

There's a dark side behind the bright lights of Las Vegas, where desperate lives and busted dreams struggle in the shadows to survive. And when a sleazy casino owner swipes $20 million from his employees' health insurance and pension funds, ex-pro-baseball-player-turned-casino-electrician Nick and his co-workers put together a daring plan to steal the money back. But in a lowdown town of underground cage fights, smoky strip clubs, and deadly double-crosses, can the perfect heist ever go as planned?
