2021 Preger Creative Idea Prize Winners

Snu

Sierra Nevada University recently issued the following announcement.

What is a “Creative Idea Challenge?

The Preger Prize Creative Idea Challenge, first held in early 2020, stimulates and supports individual creativity among SNU undergraduate students. The Preger Challenge is open to full-time students in any discipline at the Incline Village campus. Submitted business ideas must be novel, useful, and implementable, and be accompanied by a thought-out plan for implementation.

Ten contestants each submitted an Idea Submission Form, Business Model Canvas, and a one-page Executive Summary to enter. Not surprisingly, at a time when the pandemic is still exerting its day to day influence, all the winning ideas included a digital component to facilitate communication and connection. The presentations were judged by Ron Wall, Scott Snavely, and Nathan Hamilton, all of whom have impressive resumes in entrepreneurship and business.

The Preger Prize Creative Idea Challenge was made possible by the generous donation and commitment of Bob and Eleanor Preger. Robert Preger spent 25 years in the software industry. He was part of the original management team at Oracle in 1980. He and his wife Eleanor, who endowed the Creative Idea Challenge, have lived in Incline Village since 1987 and been active supporters of Sierra Nevada University for many years.
