University of Nevada-Las Vegas issued the following announcement on September 17.
NLV Dance is pleased to announce the 2021-2022 concert season, The ABC's of Dance. The department of dance welcomes back live audiences into UNLV theater spaces, and also will continue its streaming component allowing guests to experience the shows from home.
The ABC theme signals a return to the basic elements underpinning the fabric of the dance art form. The concert season opens Oct. 22-23 with Alphabetical Actions — a culmination of choreography by UNLV Dance faculty Cathy Allen, Dolly Kelepecz-Momot, Louis Kavouras, and Artist-in-Residence Ari Mayzick, former principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company — in the Judy Bayley Theatre. It features lighting by UNLV Dance design specialist Michael Jarett.
D is for Dance, November 18-20, 2021 in Dance Studio HFA 111, features exciting choreography and lighting design by the talented Bachelor of Fine Arts majors in Performance and Choreography, and Production and Management, respectively. The department of dance is the only dance department in the nation with a dedicated degree program in dance lighting, design, and stage management.
Fall semester ends with More Dance on Friday, December 3, 2021, a streaming concert of innovative dance works performed in site-specific locations.
Spring concerts begin with Kinetic Languages on February 25-26, 2022 in the Judy Bayley Theatre. It will feature works by faculty and guest artists and will explore how dance is a language of motion.
On April 21-23, 2022, UNLV Dance will perform the spring concert, 5 6 7 8, presenting the milestone and capstone choreographed works and lighting design by the Bachelor of Fine Arts majors.
The season ends with Last Dance on Friday, May 6, 2022, a final streaming concert of works.
Beyond the mainstage concerts, UNLV Dance is always a world of motion. On Nov. 5, the College of Fine Arts welcomes the return of Artwalk. This exciting event includes performances by UNLV Dance majors and features a special 40th anniversary tribute to the famous Claes Oldenburg Flashlight, as well as a performance with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company of a reimagined Hawkins work from 1947, featuring a reconstructed Isamu Noguchi set.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the UNLV Performing Arts Center box office, located on the northeast end of campus and attached to the south face of the parking garage. Maps and directions are available online. Individual show tickets may be purchased for $18 over the phone by calling 702-895-ARTS (2787) or online from the Performing Arts Center box office.
Discount tickets are available to seniors, military members, all students, UNLV faculty and staff, and UNLV alumni for $10. Streaming access for each concert will also be $10 per household. Additional fees may apply.
