CITY OF BOULDER CITY: BC’s Walker Recognized as “2021 Up-and-Coming Lawyer”

Boulder

City of Boulder City issued the following announcement.

Brittany Walker, City Attorney, received special honors on June 23rd when she was named the Community Choice: 2021 Up-and-Coming Lawyer by Vegas Inc.  The awards are printed in the Top Lawyers special feature publication inside the Las Vegas Weekly.

Ms. Walker is a graduate of William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, Las Vegas and is licensed to practice in Arizona and Nevada.  “It’s a great honor to be recognized by the community, especially in a region filled with so many talented, dedicated young attorneys,” said Walker. “I appreciate all of the people who supported me and helped me develop and grow as an attorney. I hope to live up to this award and use my legal career to give back to this community.” Ms. Walker’s previous experience includes working for Holland & Hart LLP, Las Vegas, NV as an Associate and in the Nevada Court of Appeals for Chief Judge Abbi Silver (who now serves on the Nevada Supreme Court).

More than 200 attendees were on hand for the special event Wednesday. Vegas Inc. – a business publication that is part of the Greenspun Media Group - issues several industry recognition awards throughout the year. The magazine decided to honor the top lawyers in Southern Nevada.  Nominations were accepted over a five-week period. Other Community Choice categories included:

  • Community Exemplary
  • Customer Care
  • Lifetime Achievement
  • Pro Bono
  • Trailblazer
“Brittany has proven to be a valuable part of the Boulder City team in the past eight months, first as acting City Attorney and now officially appointed to the role” said Mayor Kiernan McManus. “This recognition supports the decision that City Council made by hiring her to be our City Attorney.”

Submissions were reviewed by a panel of unbiased legal industry judges who are not practicing attorneys.  Only one lawyer was selected for each Community Choice category.
